-15C with a bit of a headwind, coldest day of the semester. The temperature sensor in my garmin seems to be off a few degrees. I was right at the limit for what I was wearing. The ride took 67 minutes for 16km. I tried out a pair of shoe rain covers that I had insulation sewn into. They kept my feet warm but rubbed the crank arms a bit too much. The MUP was plowed yesterday so I rode it for half the ride this morning. The temp is supposed to rise to 0 today.
Last nights ride with a light tailwind was 58 minutes. Got buzzed by a few cars too lazy to switch to the other driving lane. There were a lot of deep ruts on several streets. I'm starting to get a feel for riding in the loose stuff again.
Keeping my water bottle in the mesh pocket outside my pannier in stead of in the bottle cage kept it from freezing. Maybe adding a wind deflector to the bottle cage is all I need to do to keep the bottle from icing.
