My usual approach is to find a 110 BCD spaced double (lots of them out there), and replace the rings with donor rings from a MTB triple (use the two larger rings). That's what I have on my 1986 Katakura Silk right now, something like a 47/35 or similar.

I've done this several times, its one of the reasons I will still pick up an occasional donor MTB.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
