OK, so I am usually late to the party, been on this site viewing for who knows how long and was too lazy to register unitl it was time to do chores around the house tonight, and guess what I am not doing. Actually just taking a break, whew

I will have some technical bike questions I am sure, owning both modern bikes and vintage road bikes.
Am in my mid-fifties, been riding forever but just started adding miles a few times a week on a modern STI equipped road bike (a triple for me)
You've have heard this before: Ran the roads/trails for years until my knees wouldn't take it any more, and after being scoped a few times cycling was the best replacement for running.
So, my knees are better this year for the first time in a while, making myself put the time in on hills and accepting the fact that your knees are supposed to feel achy after rides, some anyway. Finally developing some quad strength after the surgeries and actually enjoying climbing for the first time in years. Well, enjoying the feeling of accomplishment anyway (lets not get too animated about loving hills here)
Looking forward to continued improvement, look forward to tagging along on some group rides, and would like to try my first cyclocross race or MTB race next year.
