Really if you call 911 and say someone is pointing a gun at me and start describing the person doing so they won't come unless They shoot you! Ok... But yes. It's not exactly going to defend yourself and the cops aren't going to show up immediately but if I was one the other side and someone called 911 on me I would be getting out of there ASAP.
