From: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada - burrrrr!

Bikes: 1958 Rabeneick 120D, 1968 Legnano Gran Premio, 196? Torpado Professional, 2000 Marinoni Piuma

Some pretty interesting takes on the question, however; let's step it up a notch...

Let's say I have an early seventies Bottecchia "Giro d'Italia" frame and fork, with no art remaining on the frame set. Would it be unethical for me to build it up as a Bottecchia Professional? Please keep in mind that the Giro d'Italia frame and the Professional frame are virtually identical and I have no way of telling which one the frame set originally was/is. The only difference between the two models is found in the components fitted.

Now, I did not know that the frame sets were identical. The fellow I got the frame from informed me of their identical specifications.

Have a look at the feature article on my Bottecchia. Even there, I can't decide which way to go and it is not an ethical thing this time. I happen to like the looks of the Giro better than the Pro...
