In most places, sharrows are meaningless as the rules of the road for motor vehicles and bicycles is same whether there are sharrows or not. If drivers behave differnetly on roads with sharrows, it shows that they don't know or understand the laws. This indicates to me that the need to be educated and reminded of the laws, not that we need to paint more sharrows.
