I am thinking I will go with older Shimano XT 7 or 8 speed throughout, except for the brakes. I have some XTR 900 cantilever brakes I will use. Not sure what rims and crank I will go with yet, but I will probably go half-step + granny. Does this sound about right for a good build? Also, though the frame looks as if it is small, it is actually 57 cm.

Will take a bit of time to get done as I don't just have the money to throw at it right this minute. Will be thinning the herd a bit, selling a few parts, etc. to help with financing the build.
