I would agree with you if that car was a family vehicle and if it met certain other conditions. For example if it wasn't used primarily for short-haul and by one person. A good example is a family that has 3 cars, with two of them used for trips to the Quick Trip.

Quite a few of the people who post here would be using a car to move themselves only and could meet medium to long-haul situations with other transport. So that comparison would be valid.
