The cat scan of my right knee shows little cartilage, it's bone on bone. The surgeon approved knee replacement but I chickened out. I'll manage with pain killers for a few more years before stuffing a boat anchor into my body. The technology is advancing quickly and maybe future designs will last longer than the current estimated 10 years of service.



But as noted, life can be much worse.
