Depends on where the stop sign/light is , most of the time i just pretend to be a car and take my place in the lane. No one seems to care, never let someone else cause you to move before you feel it is safe to do so it is your life on the line not theirs. Not sure how long you have been riding , but over time you take off and pick up speed will increase , often to the point where you are waiting on the slow ass cars

In saying that there is one red light on a rather steep hill , but the road is wide enough for a bike and car so i pull over to the side and let them pass me . One has to share in life, and if they can not share with you they can go fornicate them self .
