I am TERRIBLE at negotiating. I usually end up paying more than what they initially asked. I'm going to visit a/some bike store(s) today, and I really, really want to keep it under $450 after tax (see what I mean about negotiating? my budget in this thread has escalated 50% from my minimum, and you guys aren't even trying to get me to spend more). So should I first tell the guy I'm looking for a $350 bike and when he tries to get me to spend more, tell him I have to put a firm upper limit of $400?
