Oh, I know the boss quite well.
He keeps all his clients happy, he has the best shop in Finland.
He is 64 and been doing it for over 30 years.
you cant judge the guy over one issue.

This week had 15 year old school boy in for "work training experence"
He was great- and had his own head and could think for himself, a funny kid.
You could toss him parts and he would figure them out by himself,
He swapped over a grip-shifters to trigger shifters without any assistance.
The boy has a MTB with 3 busted spokes and bent rear wheel.
On his last day, the boss told me to go outside and snip the rest of the spokes in his rear wheel!
Then he told the boy to go get us doughnuts.Man the boy was pissed!
But the Boss made good and had a new rim and spokes waiting in the shop and taught him to lace and true it...well it was almost sucessful...
the kid got most of the spokes correct but needs a bit of help
Then the boss trued it and sent him out the door happy.
He was a nice kid,I heard he is an orphan, hope to see him again

I also saw the boss give a 500 euro discount on a 1500euro frame last week- the clients frame broke due to fatigue.

Another funny thing-
we had a custom carbon build bike in with a broken hub where the spoke hooks into it-low spoke count and flat spokes.
Boss replaced them with a new pair of rims and said it was warranty-no questions asked.
Odd thing is we lost the clients contact-the slip must have fallen off the bike in the shop.
he spent 3 hours looking through his records to match up the owner with this bike based off of the measurements!
most all our bikes are custom builds and high end.

Im building a new bike from the frame up
- Rohloff
-2 days now, all new parts and it is not easy as parts dont always fit and you got to go back to the parts room to look for something that will work.
I tried 3 cranksets, 2 bottom brackets, and now the chainline is perfect.
I laced the wheels which are very oddly laced-rohloff specs say 2 crosses and the leading spokes are oddly spaced on the hub
This is a winter bike build-studded tires, fenders, lights, real discs.

For some odd reason the boss sort of finances peoples bikes
its hard times now a-days and sometimes people just dont have the funds for a new-build bike
but we have the frames in stock and it keeps us busy.

We are going to photograph a lot of 90's framesets next week to be sold off.
I have seen at least 2 columbus slx framesets in the collection-none for me.
one is a TT frame
