you likely should have waited for answers to your post in the "how to tape bullhorns" thread but of course the odds were good that you'd get gifed for necroing. i do sometimes wonder at the rush to chastise or ridicule newer users for what some old hands around here deem to be inane questions, posts, or threads. i guess it is more entertaining than giving a straight answer? which at least in this case could have helped op & quickly ended any further need for this thread? especially considering that c0urt's tutorial is somewhat ambiguous & his current flicker pictorial is about drops?

anyway, the simple answer is...either.

it seems most guys start at the barends & work inwards to the stem, then use tape to finish it off. personally, i use the method that i learned from carleton (which was pointed out to you previously) - start by the stem & work out...
