MA-40s are great, durable rims, but they are a an old school box rim and that doesn't jibe with the look of a bladed spoke to my eye. Personally, I'd just use Sapim Race spokes with that hub/rim combo for aesthetic reasons, but that's just my preference. If they're 32h I'd lace them 3x. It'll be a good looking wheelset that'll look good with vintage or modern frames.
Bladed spokes don't look good on anything and are just an added complication for very little return outside "looks aero" bragging rights. Unless you really need that nth-degree advantage because you are competitive within your not entry level racing class, you can generally get away with DB spokes and have a perfectly rad wheelset.
