Glittering under the showroom lights and under a nice coat of metallic paint were body grind marks. There probably wasn't a 3' diameter circle anywhere on the body that didn't have a raw grinding mark showing under the paint.
I was just amazed.
That is why finding a proper repaint is difficult, there is just so much that wants to be corrected. If you see a mid 60's Corvette with smooth highlights and reflections its been block and longboard sanded.
As for Raleigh, the prior bare images do show how tolerant lugged construction is of less than stellar brazing and still be functional. Also, note the copper. That is not burned bronze but Raleigh tacked with copper and then brazed out of the fixture in Bronze. Copper has a higher melting point so will go liquid after the bronze has.
