I've got the AER calipers on my Equipe. Stock pads. I have them teamed with Gran Compe aero pulls. Adequate stoppers as far as I'm concerned. I don't encounter many emergency stops so I put as much confidence in them as I do any system of higher repute. They are better sheer stoppers than the AGC 250/300 calipers, in my estimation.

The cam set up feature has it's own idiosyncratic challenges but once I found the toe-in sweet spot optimum braking capability came into focus. Quality cables, routing and cable covers (lubrication/teflon) do make a big difference in this case. Repeat: Careful set-up is critical.

I like them because they are distinctly different in appearance. Paraphrasing Billy Crystal/Fernando Lamas, ......sometimes "it's better to look good than to stop good".
