I don't think so. The Aksiums are factory built and Mavic generally does it pretty well. They certainly didn't build two wheels that fragile. And CXP-33's are pretty stout rims so the build quality would have had to be dreadful to fail that soon.
I build wheels for a living... it is not inconceivable that two wheel that came from the same factory were not built properly.
Off the peg wheels are notorious when it comes to these kinds of failures... if they were not stress relieved the spokes would unwind themselves in short order and cause these types of issues.
Mavic did not build the wheels, they provided the parts to build them.
