What's the top tube length on your road bike? I would compare that to the Surly - I found that the LHT is relatively long. My road bike is a 48 cm, and it feels a tiny bit big. My LHT is a 42 cm and it's perfect.

As most people are saying, I'm guessing that the 52 is way too small for you, but I would still compare effective top tube lengths. You're at the tall end of the spectrum, and there are 5 sizes bigger than the 52. If the 52 fits someone 6'1", then who is the 62 for?
