I had the exact same reaction when I first trialed a Lisa, the predecessor to the Mac. When they released the Mac less than a year later I was hook, line & sinkered . . . I didn't have to be reeled in, I swam to the boat and jumped in.

I was around for the Classic and LC rollout, around OS4. At the time, it was kinda cool (1988-1990). No one could have imagined where technology would be twenty years later. With the advent of the flip-phone, Star Trek comparisons no longer seemed outlandish.
My great grandad passed in 1976 (b. 1888). He saw us go from horse and carriage to space shuttle. I hope only to see a colony on Mars before I move on.
