+1. Go with what works for you.
My primary mode of transportation is walking so I prefer footwear that is comfortable yet can also be used when I'm cycling. Because of that I choose to not go the route of finding cycling shoes from a relatively limited selection that allow me to walk. It's comfortable shoes and platform pedals for me when I'm not cycling with time/speed in mind.
