I know there is already a million venge vs. tarmac threads out there, but I had a specific question that I didn't see answered (not saying I didn't miss the answer somewhere though). I'm going to build-up a new road bike over the winter, and I can't decide between the Venge and the Tarmac. My plan would be to buy the frame and add the 2012 SRAM Red group. I know the Tarmac has the edge on the climbs and the Venge has the edge on the flats, but would putting a set of aero wheels (Zipp 404) on the Tarmac even the playing field? From what I could find online it seems like the Tarmac frame is a little lighter than the Venge frame - can anyone confirm this?

I'm mostly a mountain bike racer so the road bike is for training, although I do race several crits each year (I likely won't be road racing). I'm looking for a good all around bike that I can climb on and also do well on the flats. I live in Tennessee so most of the climbs are short and steep, and my riding is a 65/35 mix of solo and group rides. Thanks!
