Same here, I ride the MUPs in the Winter also.
Bike lanes pop up here when a road or street gets a re-do. There are only a few parking lane/bike lane side by side streets locally, dangerous IMO. The other bike lanes lack proper sweeping. They sparkle with broken glass. It's just part of riding around town.
