My vote is for the wolber's. My 1991 resto has dark grey rims, because that just happened to be what I had. They may even be montreal's... I don't really. I agree the uneven wear makes the bike look dirty somehow. I prefer silver anodized because they don't get water and corrosion spots even if you don't clean them after a bit of a wet ride. Polished stuff you have to stay on top of cleaning it and wiping it down a lot. I put NOS montreal's on my 1981 track bike in dark grey also, but again I just happen to come across them for cheep. and it is a Marinoni so being from Quebec is seemed reasonable. And of course there will be no brake wear on those so they will stay looking clean.
