Wow, yours don't? Now I feel lucky

We don't get *all* of our MUPs plowed (according to the city of Calgary's website, they plow 280 km out of 700 km total) and it's not always perfect, but it sure is better than nothing. I have a tiny chunk of connecting pathway that's not plowed, and I admit I would reconsider riding on the MUPs if it were all like that. Our MUPs seem to get pretty good usage in the wintertime... I go opposite the main flow of traffic, and I probably saw close to a hundred cyclists in 10 km during the last snowfall.

Of course, as soon as you have to get off the MUPs, the bike situation is treacherous at best, especially in the winter. Last snow event I got honked at and squeezed out by a Hummer who apparently thought I should be riding in the chunks and slush in the unplowed lane (parking during non-peak hours) while he deserves the clear pavement! Clearly his vehicle is incapable of getting dirty, while I should be contending with the ankle high blocks of ice.
