I have an old hand-me-down Peugeot Racer given to me by my dutch father-in -law. Used and abused by me. Perhaps you can identify it. It might be a '74 PX10 - E but I'm not sure...as this is my own research intosomething i know nothing about. I need to replace some parts and any help would be beneficial.

Frame: Gold colour.
Cranks - stronglight.
Front hub - Normandy Luxe competition
Brakes - Mafac racer.
Skewers, gear levers - simplex
Frame & forks had numbered stickers (Trianguar on forks 531?501?581?)
10 speed.
Front deraillure rear wheel and seat plus handlebar tape not original. (the original tape was a brownish cotton type tape..)

Some little Yob jumped on my rear wheel so this was replaced by a chepo back wheel - I would like to relace this back with a proper skinny racer wheel as I am currently getting in to triathalon. it is a 700c wheel but I'm not sure what will fit? Only ones which fit 10 Speeds gears? i.e 5 cogs on the back.

I could also do with replacement front brake (to match original if possible!) at this seems twisted so one brake pad is in-front of the other and it's loud enough to wake the dead. I have some piccys if that might help.

To me this seems a great bike and very light considering it's only a couple of years younger than I am. I can email some photos if it will help.
