But, why? Is the Cannondale with the Trek's wheels and components going to ride better, or differently, from the Trek? How much better/different? Not sure it is worth doing unless you are just bored and want to take bikes apart and move bits around. Which is a perfectly worthy pastime. Sometimes you end up with no working bikes.
I guess it's a combo of wanting the cool vintage bike with the modern luxury of brifters and needing to get one bike out of the apartment before my wife kills me
