I had shingles when I was in my 20's and found that they were VERY painful. I don't want to try it again. Actually, I had read that if you've already had shingles you don't need the vaccine -- but I think I'll play it safe. Actually they don't really know enough about it yet. There is apparently a debate over whether you only need to get it once or every 5 years...
Taking the vaccine from a pharmacy to somewhere else for injection can be problematic because it must be given within not too many minutes (30?) after removal from freezer.
Pharmacists can give the vaccine. At least, in Indiana they can do that. Mine was injected by a pharmacist.
