My non-expert guess is that with all the other sources of bright light in most areas the users of strong cycling lights are not endangering those of us still relying on our trusty old PB Superflashes unless they are blinding us or others with their magnificent radiance.

Though I consider my lights good enough I do enjoy some of the impressive displays carried by some fellow riders. On a long dark straight stretch in the desert it's sort of like seeing an emergency vehicle or even a low helicopter.
