First choice- Mount up the brakes and wheels you have and see if they'll work as-is, adjusting the pad in the slot, maybe filing the slot a bit if necessary.
Second choice- Find a pair of canti's with a longer slot that will fit.
Last choice- grind off the old bosses and silver-solder on new ones. Or buy some sidepulls with appropriate reach.
