Oh, we have a few of the smuggled bottles here among our friends, had one last week. And I would not characterize this sale as "readily available" by any stretch of the imagination. Most stores were sold out of their allotment in two hours on 121212, and many places had dozens of people in line turned away. But I get your point, the beer is awesome and few can touch it's complexity, but that leaves many others that are far far easier to get that are at least as good if not even better than the six pack special. Myself, I am going to let the rest of my WV12 stash mellow for at least two years before opening another one - it is still too sweet compared to a 1998 I have sampled or 2002 Vintage WV12 I just drank. The Pannepot Reserva I think is a better Quad than any WV12's I have had but admit it is not fair for me to make that call when these brews are so hard to get!
And the price? Well, chances are wherever you are reading this now there is probably a $5 beer in your local store that I cannot get here but desire enough to pay $35 (or more - Italy/Belgium?) in shipping to get a case of, so it is all relative,... location location location
