Upgrade Colnago Master Light to newer Campy or keep 8-speed Shimano 600 group

Just thinking out loud and am open to comments.
I've got a Colnago Master Light currently built up with a Shimano 600 8-speed group. I've had it for over 10 years and had it built up from a frameset.

The Shimano group still has plenty of life left in it even though the brifters are getting a little sketchy mainly from lack of use for the last several years. But I've always had the desire to put a Campy group on this bike some day. I'm thinking of either trying to find a donor bike or a complete gruppo or piece by piece accumulating the components. Financially things are tight so I'm in no hurry. Also it is winter now so no hurry for several months.

I'm curious about people's thoughts of 10 versus 11 speed Chorus setups. I'm not planning on racing and will just use this for weekend/evening rides. Well, maybe I'll try a little age group racing but no active plans for that right now.

Anyway, just thinking out loud.

Thanks.
