Financially, it woul dmake sense to put on a new chain, new cassette, new cables, clean and adjust everything. Spray the brifters with WD40, and work them a bit, and it will ride like a new groupset.
Emotionally, it would be cool to put a new Athena group, in silver on the bike. That would give you n Campy, a modern group, at a reasonable price, and stick with the period look of the bike.
