I don't know how far you ride per day, but I'd say after a month, I'm surprised your chain still goes around the cogs! Well, I'm being a little dramatic, but Holy Crap!

The first thing you need to do is CLEAN your chain. When you get it nice and clean, Bicycle Magazine (and I) recommend a "spray lube containing Teflon". Oil is too heavy and not that good a lubricant, plus any dust or dirt sticks to it.

I use Tri Flow, available in bike shops or Slick 50 Lube 1. Spray to soak the chain (turning pedals backwards) then wipe down thouroughly.

CLEAN YOUR CHAIN, MAN!!
