given the era of that bike and that it's '600', the cassette has good odds to being uniglide, which means it can't take hyperglide (shimano 9 & 10 spd). And certainly not Campy, which means another rear wheel. Which means a new wheelset ???
I can understand the 'Campy' thing, but maybe
next season, put 4K+ miles on the bike, and then decide.
