It looks like there is a knob. The thing on top.
If in doubt, take it to the shop and ask. that's one of the cool things about a LBS purchase is support and assistance on becoming familiar with your bike.

Here is what I see:
Based on the notched baseplate, that might be an adjuster for dampening or rebound rather than a lockout (but I am not sure of that). Try it and see what it does. Is there something on the other side?

On a side note, don't zip tie the wire on the stanchion (the smaller diameter tube of the shock) - instead, limit it to the crown and the slider (the big, lower tube), with enough slack to allow the shock to fully extend without pulling on the wire.
