This photo by Brittney Turner gets toward what I think is art and includes a bicycle. It's well composed with a variety of textures and the foreground and background compliment each other. The red and white stripes on the bike give it a festive air. But then if you look at it closer, it is not just a white bike or one with snow on it; it is a ghost bike. There is a story of sadness that we don't know. But then, someone has taken the time to "cheer" up this ghost bike with holiday spirit. Is it someone's way of telling the rider that they miss them, during Christmas? Again, we don't know. The somber ghost bike decorated for a happy season seems to be a contradiction. But then there is the snow. It is perfect, untrampled, giving an additional layer of isolation, yet tranquil and peaceful and beautiful.
