Cadence is really a personal thing. I always push a big gear in the high 60s (Which I find weird because I'm a really small guy) but it works well for me. Also, ALL trainers are designed to fit the average rider (i.e. weight); so for me being a small guy, my trainer provides disproportionate resistance. For example, when I put it on the "level road" setting, it's a tad bit harder because the trainer provides proportionate resistance to the average weight rider (Which I am far below). Hopefully you are also like me where you are not the "average" rider.
