Agree with above advice. Weightlifting is out. Cycling is probably ok once you have healed and/or repaired the defect. You probably want to maintain a high cadence and avoid the "bearing down" (valsalva) mentioned above.

Finally, realize that if you crash, you are risking a repeat rupture. Accept this as a risk and decide if it's worth it for you to continue riding.

Don't be afraid to get a second opinion.
