I know last year both Greenpeace and the Earth Liberation Front claimed to the spiking of hundreds of trees in Oregon and Washington state. It was on national news, and I'm sure you could find more info on some news sites.

I don't know anything about the bomb incident. but have no doubt that they have tried to close public land to the public; not just mtn bikers, but hikers, horses, ATVs, hiking etc...
