On our Knox Bicycle Touring Club Sunday rides we get the odd blow in from time to time. One such was telling us that his carbon fibre single weighed only 8kg (whatever that is in your money) to which one of our members replied:
"My day ride pannier weighs more than that!" Possible tongue in cheek but is does indicate that there is a huge dichotomy between tourists and fast road riders.
