Trailers made from scrap metal

a fellow on the bus yesterday had an unusual setup on the back of his bike. couldn't
quite cipher out what it was all about and he noticed me looking it over. i asked what it
was and he said a trailer hitch made from recycled metal. also said he made trailers from scrap, long 15' and 20' models that carry, he claims, 1000 pounds to 1500 pounds, depending on model. builds 'em in his back yard.

here's a thought: product liability?

pretty bare bones. anyway, i got to thinking about hauling heavy weights. would a tandem set of wheels disperse the weight best? i'm thinking about 4 wheels on 2 full length axles.
i'd be scared to go down a hill with a fully loaded one. it'd push you pretty hard. and i can gar-en-darn-tee ya, i couldn't make it up the first 50' of ANY hill.

his idea reminds me of tony's trailers in british columbia.
