I hope those were your rock skis! Valley Spur in Munising was marginal last weekend. Have you seen the Fat Bike south trails (Greywalls I think) at night video?
nice one! I haven't ridden Greywalls yet, my stomping grounds had always been more South Trails and the non-bike trail and road network heading out of town to the northwest, from long before NTN - gack - hit the scene. Greywalls looks VERY smooth, not at all like some of the rest of the south trails, i will have to check it out come spring on the monstercross bike.
For traveling in the woods in the winter, i will consistently choose skis, as they allow much smoother and faster travel over loose snow, mixed terrain and off trail. Bikes are a
novelty in the woods in the winter, and VERY dependent on 'ideal' riding conditions to not bog down.
