I looked at the owners manual and it said the Giant bike used for strictly road riding can take 275 pounds plus 10 pounds of luggage for a total of 285 pounds. If you get a cycle-cross bike it says it will handle a 300 pound rider plus 30 pounds of luggage for a total of 330 pounds. but more expensive and it has drop bars although I’m sure you can get a straight bar put in. Hope this helps.
