HI Joe we don't mind giving good advice but sometimes we have to sort of feel out a new member to see if they are real or at times up to no good. We had a guy a few years ago asking real odd question about 3 or 4 very nice bikes in a two day span. The questions he was asking didn't seem to fit with the level of the bikes so we suspected somethign was up. As mentioned some thought you were a plant to advertise that website.
I agree with Ex Pres when he says ride it and decide before upgrading. I am not a Raleigh expert but I think the Professional is a model that traveled up and down the line at times. Perhaps this was one of the years when it was a lower bike in the line the International or Team was top dog. Whatever the reason for the kit that the bike wears now it works and you won't find a huge difference in the ride by upgrading to SR purley on looks.
Looking at some of the sellers pics I think among other things this bike has Victory while hoods shoved on NR/SR era brake levers.
How does the bike ride? Are you getting some good miles in on it?
