At least in that case the perpetrator was convicted:
"Davis was sentenced to 16 days in jail, to be served on weekends beginning in January, said his attorney, Gregory Turpin. Davis also must complete 80 hours of community service, enroll in an anger management program and pay restitution to each of the 43 victims in the case."
