I answered you earlier today. But after some thought I decided to delete that answer and reply again. Hopeully, this answer will be more on point and not repeat previous posts. In those posts I pointed out that people who decided to emigrate to North America self-selected to independence and assertiveness. Those who were brought as captives of course were not. That self-selection to give up the known status quo rather than remain subservient to the governing class of the time were distinctly different than those who stayed behind. That self-selection continues today from many areas of the world.

Claims that somehow European cities were originally designed to be "more livable" are just not founded in fact. I posted why.

To your question:
Calling someone a fascist (as one poster did) or becoming rude and insulting rather than discussing, questioning and analyzing lowers the level of our interchange. It almost becomes a kind of Group Think that is very much like mob thought. I didn't object to your questions. Not everyone has done the historical research. It was the manner in which those questions were phrased; how you said them.

As I've posted, I typed nothing that is not historical fact. To dismiss those statements out of hand while casting a slur upon me was what was unacceptable and did not speak well of you. That interferes with the exchange of the ideas we can both benefit from.

Hope this is more direct and useful.

With regard to where people came from I have a saying I use to illustrate what I believe to be useful:
"Never forget where you came from. But how you use that memory is important. Some use it as an anchor to hold them back. Some use it as a foundation to build the future."
