Dude. You're still not getting it. They are out there. Just not at the cheap price you want to pay. This would also be easier if you would actually state what your budget is, rather than trotting out the "cheap" mantra.

So let's revisit your options:

1. save up more money, ride and train on you SS until you have the dough to get a frame to meet your standards. keep looking in the meantime for the "right" frame to pop up on sale/used/closeout somewhere.

2. buy a frame that doesn't meet your standards, but does meet your budget. ride the **** out of it, continuing to save for a better frame down the road.

3. continue to whine and moan and ignore those options. meantime, your future racing competition is riding and training, not *****ing. ride what you've got.

Find one of these in the smaller 16" size and you'll be golden.

There are plenty of dudes and ladies that race quite well and competitively on SS and heavy non-optimal for XC racing bikes. You are going to have to compromise on something. Guess what? Welcome to life. But at least you'll be riding and racing vs. not.
