I like SLRs but just can't go with the weight and changing lenses. I compromise with a Cannon G11 with an optical viewfinder as well as the screen. The size and weight are about like a traditional viewfinder. I toss it in a pack on the back and hang it around my neck in areas where I want to take a lot of pictures. On many rides, I just carry a phone like others mention.
