-was it originally for 27"s, and you put 700c's on it to get mad fat tire/fender clearance?

-how much money have you put into it, including the frame itself?

if i ever have a bunch of extra bucks i'd probably ride an extremely similar setup.
thanks! i love it.

-no tours, just longer rides from city to city. that will change once spring hits.
-it's tange 2, not very light but not a pig either. a lot like a surly cross check actually, if my head-scale is zeroed properly.
-it was originally 700c and fits biiig tires already.
-the bike was purchased used fixed up mostly how it sits from a great shop where my parents live, when i was inbetween jobs and staying with them. it was 900 without fenders, rack, or brooks saddle. the wheelset was at cost and the deore xt derailleur was used, so now that i work at a shop i can stretch my dollars pretty damn far. but if you were looking to spec it out at street pricing, i would say add about 620 for everything that i'd added to it... wheels, fenders, rack, dynamo lighting, brooks. that doesn't include the frame pump or cardiff bag either. so... probably 1600 or so all said and done.

johnny your cross check is fantastic! i love those fog of war gray ones. my nishiki packs less of a punch than a sensible and sweet build like that, but it's also only a few years younger than me and is the oldest and most unique bike i have, through and through.
