You know, there is a Trek 7500FX in between those two. I ride a 22.5" frame, and am 6'4". What's the biggest frame you can get, 25"? That might be big enough for you, but honestly they don't usually make bikes for guys your size...

As far as handling and speed, my 7500FX is the fastest bike I've ever owned. It is light, and the tires are nice quick slicks. It's got lots of braze-ons for fenders, racks, etc. I'd recommend it, if the 25" frame fits you.
